Through the leadership of its four bishops, as well as the dedication and hard-work of the clergy and faithful in its 108 parishes, the Diocese of Metuchen has accomplished much since it was created 25 years ago. To celebrate these achievements, and give thanks to God for the many blessings bestowed on the Diocese, Bishop Paul G. Bootkoski cordially invites all to a Silver Jubilee Gala.

Opening Mass of 25th Anniversary Year
& First Diocesan Synod

The diocese took a historic step in its relatively young life when 240 delegates went to its first synod joined Bishop Paul G. Bootkoski, principal celebrant and homilist, in the Solemn Eucharist Inaugurating the Silver Jubilee Year and the First Diocesan Synod, in St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral, Metuchen, Nov. 19.
The synod is timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the diocese, which was created Nov. 19, 1981, by Pope John Paul II.
