SAFETY & SECURITY PROGRAMS & POLICIES
The safety and security of our students is a primary objective because students who feel safe and secure will recognize a loving God and learn more effectively.
Safety is defined in terms of protecting children from physical and emotional harm. Security is defined in terms of developing a relationship with God, promoting a healthy trust of others, and fostering a positive sense of ego. The creation of the Office of Child Protection is one example of the priority that the Bishop of Metuchen places on children’s safety. There are many educational programs that further support this objective.
CHILD ASSAULT PROGRAM (CAP)
The “Child Assault Program,” is a state-supported program for prevention of child abuse. CAP training is provided for all personnel in Catholic schools, as well as parents and children, to teach effective communication skills to avert the physical and/or sexual abuse of children.
