Students at Our Lady of Lourdes in Milltown raise money and create a wall in Hurricane Katrina relief efforts
Students at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School in Milltown sponsored many events in the opening weeks of school to provide charity assistance to victims of Hurricane Katrina.
The entire student body created a “Helping Hands” Wall. Each monetary donation received was represented by a red, white, or blue hand with the students’ names printed on it and displayed on a wall in the cafeteria. This event was sponsored by the Student Council at Our Lady of Lourdes and raised $928.
The school total of $1368.57 will be donated to Catholic Charities USA Hurricane Relief Fund through the Diocese of Metuchen.
Sister Maria Gruszka, Principal, thanked all students for supporting these charity efforts and was impressed with the innovative ideas, hard work, and the inspiring displays of good citizenship.
