"Students to Leaders"
2010 Foundation for Catholic Education Dinner
Honoring all priests of the Diocese of Metuchen in Commemoration of "The Year for Priests"
The 2010 Foundation for Catholic Education Dinner took place on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at The Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset, NJ. Guest speaker and noted mystery writer, Mary Higgins Clark, shared her personal experiences of our Catholic Faith.
The Foundation for Catholic Education is an endowment fund which provides tuition assistance grants to aid low and moderate income families within our diocese whose children attend diocesan schools. Since 2001, the diocese has distributed over $500,000 in tuition assistance grants each year. By providing academic excellence in a faith-filled environment, Catholic schools prepare our young people to be future leaders and responsible citizens for business, our communities and our nation. To keep the legacy alive, we must strive to make Catholic elementary and secondary schools available, accessible and affordable to Catholic parents and their children.
Students in all of the Diocesan Schools were invited to participate in an essay contest with a specific topic for each of the three grade level categories. Final essay contest entries were reviewed by famed author Mary Higgins Clark
