The Office of the Diaconate
assists the Bishop of Metuchen in the implementation of the processes and procedures identified in the National Directory for the Formation, Ministry, and Life of Permanent Deacons in the United States.
The office supports the community of
ordained deacons and their wives.
It also focuses its efforts to enlist a new group of devout and competent men into the diaconal ministry
of the Church.
The office extends its effort in the recruitment, selection, and training of such men who through prayer and discernment have recognized their calling
to the clerical state.
