All lay employees may purchase coverage through Spectera Vision.

The plan is structured as a Point of Service (POS) plan, which gives members the choice of going “in” or “out” of network as follows:

In-network

  • Yearly exams carry a $10 co pay;
  • There is a materials co pay of $25 that applies to the entire purchase of eyeglasses (lenses and frames), or contacts in lieu of eyeglasses;
  • Most frames are covered in full;
  • Receive a $50 wholesale frame allowance at private practice providers, or a minimum $130 frame allowance at retail chain providers;
  • Fitting/evaluation fees, contacts (including disposables), and up to two follow-up visits are covered-in-full for the most popular brands every year;
  • Up to 8 boxes are included. $200 allowance is applied towards Toric, gas-permeable, and bifocal contact lenses; Refractive eye surgery is provided at a discount.

Out of network

  • Yearly exams are covered up to $60;
  • Single vision, bifocal and trifocal lenses are covered up to $40, $60, and $80 respectively; Frames are covered up to $45;
  • Contact lenses are covered up to $200;
  • The member must send itemized receipts to the Spectera in order to receive any reimbursements.
