For young parents, this moment of overwhelming love and joy also brings the hard-hitting reality of the responsibility involved in caring for the physical, emotional and intellectual needs of this precious little one through adulthood. The stories of parents who work hard and sacrifice much so that their children can have a better life have been told for centuries and are still with us today.
