Mission Statement
The marriage Tribunal of the Diocese of Metuchen assists those whose marriages have ended in divorce by studying the history of the relationships to determine if there was a valid bond, according to the laws of the Roman Catholic Church. Catholics, as well as persons of other denominations, who wish to marry Catholics, or have their current civil marriages to Catholics, convalidated by the Church, are encouraged to petition for such a study.
The process can be a healing experience with one’s self, with the Church, and with significant others in one’s life and, above all, with the Lord.
The Tribunal’s staff is dedicated to continue offering assistance and healing to those who have need of its services. Their mission is to study facts and circumstances, not to assign blame.
Declaración Misional
El Tribunal matrimonial de la Diócesis de Metuchen asiste a aquellos, cuyos matrimonios han terminado en divorcio, estudiando la historia de la relación para determinar si hubo o no un lazo válido, de acuerdo a las leyes de la Iglesia Católica Romana. Los católicos, al igual que personas de otras denominaciones, que desean contraer matrimonio con católicos, o que están casados civilmente con católicos, y quieren convalidar sus matrimonios en la Iglesia, son animados a solicitar tal estudio.
El proceso puede ser una experiencia sanadora con uno mismo, con la Iglesia, con las personas que son importantes es su vida, y primero que todo, con el Señor.
El personal del Tribunal está dedicado a continuar ofreciendo ayuda y alivio a aquellos que necesitan de sus servicios. Su misión es estudiar las circunstancias no culpar a nadie.
