Greetings from the Office of Vocations
As you may know, it is the responsibility of all Christian people to pray for, to encourage and to invite vocations to the priesthood, religious life and diaconate.
It is hoped that the people of the Diocese of Metuchen will take seriously this responsibility and pray for vocations on a daily basis.
It is also hoped that all of us will be willing to encourage men and women, boys and girls that we know, perhaps even our own children and grandchildren, to consider a vocation for themselves, or at least, to be open to this possibility in their life.
It is also possible for us to personally invite a young man or women that we know to consider this possibility. Sometimes that is all a person needs, a personal invitation and a recognition that someone sees in them, what they themselves have been feeling deep inside.
If each one of us is willing to pray, to encourage and to invite, then vocations will flourish within the Diocese of Metuchen. Remember, God is still calling, but we also have to do our part.
If you believe that you might have a vocation to the priesthood, religious life or diaconate, we invite you to contact us here at the Office of Vocations, by phone, fax, or e-mail.
We would be more than happy to send you information for your personal reflection, or to meet with you to discuss this possibility and to answer your questions.
It can be very helpful for you to not keep this feeling inside, but to share it with someone who can guide you and give you some direction. Please do not hesitate to contact us, we will all be more than happy to assist you in any way we can.
Be assured of our prayers for you as you discern God's call and try to find the courage to go where God is leading.
