Dear Coaches and Administrators:
We welcome you to the Diocese of Metuchen’s 2008-2009 CYM Basketball Season.
A few important items to be aware of:
The safety of our youth is most important, Diocesan policy requires that all adults working or volunteering with minors. Including coaches attend VIRTUS TRAINING, and pass a criminal history background check. Adults who are not in compliance with the Diocesan child protection policies are not eligible to coach. For more information, contact your parish background check coordinator or the Diocesan Office of Child and Youth Protection at 732-562-2413.
As always, we require an Organization Representative from each participating organization. This person will be the person that we will communicate with directly to pass on information to their coaches, players, and parents. There will be a mandatory meeting for all Organization Reps only on Wednesday October 1st at 7:00pm at the Diocesan Center, 146 Metlars Lane, Piscataway. We ask that the representative bring one other person with them to this meeting. This meeting is mandatory. If you cannot attend, someone else must be delegated to be in attendance in order for your organization to be involved this year.
The registration packet includes 2008-2009 Coaches and Administrators Cover Letter, Official Team Roster Form, Player Eligibility Waiver Form and Permission Slips. All documents can be downloaded from the website at your convenience. Please note they will not be distributed at the October 1st Organization Rep meeting.
Any changes in your mailing and/or e-mail addresses and the dates and time of gym availibility for the season should be emailed to Bob Berger direct at cymbasketball@aol.com
All forms and fees are to be received by the Diocesan Youth Ministry Office at (732) 562-1018 no later than Monday October 20, 2008. Teams registering late will not be guaranteed a spot in any division. The fee schedule for 2008-2009 is as follows - $85 per team entrance fee for all teams and $100 bonding fee per new organization. Fees for teams outside the Diocese are $110 per team.
The 2008-2009 Season will begin on December 6th. 2008.
