     DIOCESE OF METUCHEN TO BLESS STATUE; DEDICATE MAUSOLEUM

The Diocese of Metuchen will hold two special dedication ceremonies on Monday, Memorial Day.

At Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway, the Diocese will unveil a statue in the Chapel of the Risen Christ and at Holy Cross Burial Park in East Brunswick, the St. Anthony of Padua Mausoleum will be dedicated.

Metuchen Bishop, Paul G. Bootkoski will bless the Risen Christ statue following a 10 a.m. Mass at the Chapel of the Risen Christ. Bishop Emeritus Edward T. Hughes, will preside at the mausoleum dedication which follows a 10 a.m. Mass at Holy Cross.

Featured in the Chapel of the same name, the statue of the Risen Christ is 7 feet tall and stands on a pedestal which holds special niches, and is surrounded by granite meditation benches.

Started in 2002, the St. Anthony of Padua Mausoleum will hold 1,500 crypts and 400 niches.
