On Jan. 15, we discussed the upcoming Speak Up sessions of the Synod, where parishioners are given the opportunity to voice their concerns, hopes and vision for the Diocese of Metuchen. These sessions will be held at churches throughout the diocese.

- On January 16 we spoke with new Vocations Director Fr. Randy Vashon about the need for more priests.
- On July 25th we revisited three persons upon whom papal honors
were conferred earlier this year. They are Msgr. Terrance Lawler,
executive director of the Department of Personnel in Ministry; Msgr.
Raymond Cole, executive director of the Department of Pastoral Life
and Sr. Elizabeth O'Hara of Catholic Charities.
- Barbara Rubel, a nationally known bereavement specialist, discussed
the tragic loss of a loved one.
- We examined a new book by Jesuit priest
Jim Martin on devotions.
- We talked about the title "Monsignor" in
the wake of an announcement that the Pope is elevating 6 priests
in the diocese to that rank.

We examined the USCCB's audit report on diocesan compliance with
the charter to protect children and young people.

We spoke with Vicki Caterino, the coordinator of Rainbows, a peer
support group for children who have gone through loss of family
due to separation, divorce, death, or abandonment. Rainbows is
held every Monday night at the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi
in Metuchen. Fr. Jack Grimes is the programs moderator.

We talked with Brother John Curry, S.J., the founder and artistic
director of The
National Theatre Workshop of the Handicapped (NTWH), a theatre
for the for the handicapped.

A retrospective of our host, Rev. Guy W. Selvester, who left the
radio program. He was interviewed by his successor, Rev. Jonathan
S. Toborowsky. The program featured highlights of Rev. Selvester's
favorite broadcasts.
