Where your treasure is, there your heart shall be.
All that you possess will never set you free.
Seek the things that last, come and learn from me.
Where your treasure is, your heart shall be.

Suggestions on How to Use Stewardship Treasures

Stewardship Treasures is unique among Scripture commentaries because it offers a holistic process for deepening the spirituality of today’s Catholic. Our faith stems from and is sustained by the grace of Baptism. Through our sacramental initiation we become disciples and stewards of Jesus Christ, united with his mission of bringing about God’s Reign.

The Sunday Scriptures are rich and their message is ever-new, no matter how many times we have read or heard them. God is always wanting to do something new in us, drawing us ever deeper into the mystery that is God.

We come to know God both personally and within the community of believers, the Church. Our Catholic Christian prayer reflects this twofold journey, that is, we have our personal daily prayer and we gather as Church in various ways, primarily at Eucharist. Stewardship Treasures is intended to be used for both personal and group prayer.

Try these steps:

1.
Hear the Scriptures proclaimed at Sunday Liturgy.
2.       Read them again at home.
3.       Read the reflection from this booklet.
4.       Take some time to meditate on the questions or the message in the
Scripture that seems most relevant.   Ask God for insight.
5.       Decide on some action that your prayer calls forth.
This is part of your stewardship.
6.       Gather with a group and repeat steps 2, 3 and 4. Add a song and a prayer.
7.       Spend some time sharing your reflections with each other (#4).
8.       Explore the possibility of doing a group action (#5).

Prayer makes us one. Consider using this format at your parish meetings.
You will be amazed at the bond of unity that will develop.
