Elementary School Awareness Week

Each year the Office of Vocations sponsors an Awareness Week for the Catholic Elementary Schools of the  Diocese of Metuchen. This week is planned in cooperation with the Schools Office of the diocese. It is usually held in late winter.

The purpose of this week is to raise awareness among the school aged children of our diocese of the life and work of priests and religious. A presentation is offered, and the children are encouraged to ask questions. It is hoped that through this presentation the child will better understand that they too are called by God, and that there are a number of 'vocations' within the church. They are encouraged to develop their life of faith so that they might one day know which life God is calling them to lead.

The presentations are led by priests and seminarians of the diocese, along with a number of women and men religious who volunteer their time.
