USCCB website offers information about Year for Priests

The United States Conference of Catholic of Bishops has created a website that offers resources to aid a parish’s celebration of the Year for Priests.

Pope Benedict XVI declared a Year for Priests beginning June 19, 2009.

The website includes the address of Pope Benedict XV announcing the Year for Priests in English and Spanish; specially commissioned prayers for priests and the laity, including the rosary; announcement of the plenary indulgence in conjunction with the celebration; monthly articles written by renowned women of faith about priests; promotional materials; and information regarding events for priests.

A retreat on the national level for priests in the U.S. will be held at a date and location to be determined.

The year will conclude in Rome with an international gathering of priests with Pope Benedict on June 19, 2010.

The Year for Priests website is http://www.usccb.org/yearforpriests/.
