Director Office of Information Systems Piscataway, NJ
Presently, we have a full-time opening for a Director of Information Systems, who will be responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IS/IT functions for the Diocesan Center and affiliated locations. This includes directing all IS/IT operations to meet user requirements, as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Determines the technology needs of the user community (Pastoral Center, Diocesan and parochial schools, parishes) and provides systems to meet those needs.
Analyzes complex business needs presented by the user community and/or clients and recommends technical solutions.
Consults with users, supervisors, vendors and IS staff to assess computing needs and system requirements; Researches, evaluates and recommends technical solutions; Establishes and communicates timelines for the implementation of new products, systems and procedures.
Ensures the integrity of existing applications by creating, maintaining and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions; Directs operations in executing production tasks according to a documented schedule that meets or exceeds client/constituent expectations.
Directs and prioritizes the work load of subordinate personnel; Organizes daily activities of the department by monitoring workflow, establishing priorities and setting deadlines for projects; supervises the IS staff and personnel in conjunction with Diocesan personnel policies and procedures.
Reviews all designs, code and unit test plans where applicable; Participates on all hardware and software evaluations and maintains vendor contracts; Evaluates, recommends and/or approves technical solutions.
Performs other duties as requested.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, self-motivated, possess outstanding interpersonal and relational skills, and be technically proficient.
Additional qualifications include the following:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field; or ten years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Access software applications including MCSE, CCDP, Linux CISSP I.T. Project +.
