The Office of Divine Worship assists and advises the Bishop in his role as chief liturgist in deepening and strengthening the liturgical life within diocesan and parish communities.
The Office of Divine Worship promotes, fosters, and supports prayerful worship within the Diocese of Metuchen by facilitating vibrant liturgical celebrations, supporting clergy in fulfilling their liturgical role, forming lay liturgical leadership and promoting liturgical knowledge of the relevant documents and traditions of the Church among all Catholics.
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a ritual text, prepared and issued by decree of the Roman Catholic Church. It prescribes the preparation and formation of all those who wish to become fully initiated members of the Catholic Faith Family.

The Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi serves as the seat of the Bishop of the Diocese of Metuchen.
It serves as the primary location for many of our major Diocesan celebrations. Apart from serving as the location for the Diocesan celebrations, it serves as a parish community for the people of the Borough of Metuchen.

The Major Diocesan Liturgies recur annually with the Bishop of Metuchen as the main celebrant.
These liturgies span from the ancient and solemn celebration of the Chrism Mass to those that celebrate varying aspects of our local Church like the Hispanic Heritage Mass. All the Liturgies listed here are open to the public.

The Office of Divine Worship has a number of prepared formation workshops for parishes and other groups in the diocese interested providing opportunities for their communities to deepen the faithful's understanding of the liturgy.

The Diocese of Metuchen is engaged in a three-year grassroots revival of devotion and belief in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.
This grassroot movement would culminate in the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage in May 2024 and the National Eucharistic Congress in July 2024.
